Dried low sulfured red papaya chunkswith passion fruit juice (Item DPC-B) are prepared from sound, mature fresh red papaya conforming to the characteristics of Caricapapaya variety Cavite which has peeled, cut to desired shape, dried through the principle of osmosis followed by hot air dehydration. The finished product is light red to deep red in color, chewable texture and a flavor characteristic of sweetened red papaya. It can be also readily eaten direct from the retail pouch with increasing trends for health foods replacing junk food in the consumer diet. Product should be stored in a cool, dry place in order for the product to maintain its color and prolong shelf life.
